Dr. Gwen Marra is a professor in the Department of Education at Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa. She primarily teaches reading and early childhood education courses, and she enjoys working with future educators and teachers in the field. She has many years of experience teaching at preschool and elementary schools as well as tutoring children with dyslexia.

Dr. Marra received a Doctorate of Education in curriculum and instruction with a literacy focus from the University of South Dakota in 2014. She completed a master’s in education and a bachelor’s in elementary education with endorsements in reading and early childhood education at Dordt University. She is a Wilson-certified dyslexia practitioner, a Goyen Foundation fellow, and the director of Thrive Center for Achievement.
