Sean Thompson served as a communications specialist of the IRRC until 2023. He earned his bachelor's degree in journalism and English from the University of Iowa. He has worked as a journalist, presidential campaign staffer and as public relations coordinator for the UI Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA) Center of Excellence. In 2014, he received the Excellence in Family Service Award from the HDSA Iowa Chapter. Sean is a volunteer crisis counselor with CommUnity Crisis Services and has annually run the Chicago Marathon since 2011 to raise money for organizations such as UI Dance Marathon and the Alzheimer's Association.
