Seth King, MA, PhD

Biography

Seth is an associate professor of special education at the University of Iowa and a research fellow for the Iowa Reading Research Center. He studies effective instructional strategies, assessment methods, and teacher preparation, and explores how innovations such as virtual reality and artificial intelligence can support learning. Through his work with the IRRC, he is looking forward to contributing to projects that have a direct impact on schools and communities in Iowa. He earned a master’s in special education from Appalachian State University and a doctorate in education of students with mental and physical disabilities from the University of Pittsburgh. In his free time, Seth enjoys traveling and working as a judge for the National Speech and Debate Association.
